The growth rate of my countrys manufacturing logistics demand has turned from negative to positive

Date:[2023/12/8]

The growth rate of logistics demand in China's manufacturing industry has shifted from negative to positive
Since the beginning of 2020, the total amount of social logistics in China has experienced negative growth for five consecutive months, and the data in July has turned from negative to positive, reflecting that the overall logistics demand in the country has recovered to the same level as the same period in 2019. At the same time, the logistics demand structure continues to optimize, and new driving forces in the consumer sector continue to emerge. On August 25th, data released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing showed that the total amount of industrial logistics in China from January to July was 133.6 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.4%, which is 0.9 percentage points narrower than that of January to June. The growth rate of manufacturing logistics demand has turned from negative to positive, with a year-on-year increase of 0.1%.
From January to July, the overall demand for logistics in the country continued to recover, industrial logistics remained basically stable, import logistics demand maintained rapid growth, logistics demand related to consumption and people's livelihood continued to recover, and the support of new driving forces continued to strengthen, further consolidating the positive momentum of logistics operation; The total revenue of the national logistics industry is 5.7 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%, which is 1.2 percentage points narrower than the decrease from January to June. From a structural perspective, the scale of the e-commerce and express logistics markets has not decreased, with a year-on-year growth of 12.8% from January to July, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from January to June, and an important support force for the recovery of the logistics market for four consecutive months; The total cost of social logistics in China was 8.0 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.4%, which is 1.6 percentage points narrower than the first half of the year. From a segmented perspective, the decrease in logistics costs in transportation, storage, and management has all shown a narrowing trend, narrowing by 1.3, 2.1, and 1.5 percentage points respectively compared to the first half of the year. The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing believes that overall, on the basis of stable macroeconomic recovery, the momentum of national logistics operation has been further consolidated. However, it should also be noted that there are still risk points that affect stable operation: firstly, both supply and demand sides of logistics are still under pressure. Secondly, logistics service prices are still hovering at a low level. Thirdly, the profitability level of logistics enterprises is relatively weak.
The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing emphasizes that currently, the global epidemic is still spreading, the international economic and trade situation is complex and severe, the overall low level of logistics service prices is slowing down, the profitability level of logistics enterprises has not yet returned to normal levels, and there is still uncertainty about the sustainability of the recovery and growth of logistics demand.
