Date:[2023/12/6]

【 Communication Industry Network News 】 (Reporter Wang Gaijing) In early autumn of September, there is still the lingering charm of summer. On September 2nd, the first stop of Inspur's "Intelligent Driving in the New Era -2020 Cloud Digital Intelligent China Tour" was held in Shenzhen, which had previously announced as the world's first independent 5G SA network with full coverage. At the 5G forum with the theme "Inspir, 5G new wave", Inspur not only released the latest 5G development strategy and ideas, but also showcased the relevant product system and practical applications.
Currently, under the catalysis of new infrastructure, Inspur, as a new generation cloud network integration 5G product and service provider, is transforming into a new type of Internet enterprise with "cloud+data+AI", fully dedicating itself to new infrastructure, providing a solid "digital foundation" for rapid economic development, and working together with the industry to promote the new development of 5G industry.
The unsynchronized development of supply and demand in the 5G industry
As the digital nerve center of the industry, 5G plays a leading role in new infrastructure and plays an important role in promoting vertical industry upgrading, driving industrial transformation, and driving the participation of all industries and formats. 5G can not only generate new demands in the industry, but also create new formats.
Although 5G can bring us enormous value space, it seems that there is more talk on paper now, and there are not many practical applications. The current development of the 5G industry still faces great challenges. Chen Dongfeng, CEO of Inspur Group, stated at the meeting that the current development of the 5G industry is facing problems such as insufficient activation of industry customer demand and unclear supply value of operational services.
Chen Dongfeng stated that for industry clients, cost, effectiveness, how to integrate 5G technology with industry applications, how to effectively integrate CT and IT, and how to bridge the gap between industry demand and 5G technology are all practical issues faced by 5G in the industry application process. And operators also face investment pressure, industry barriers, difficulties in meeting industry customer needs, and rigid business models.
How to effectively solve these problems and promote the development of the 5G industry? From an industry perspective, Chen Dongfeng believes that in order to solve the current problem of unsynchronized supply and demand in the development of the 5G industry, the fundamental issue lies in the urgent need for the 5G industry to build a new business model, create a more open, extensive, and collaborative cooperation ecosystem, and aggregate new innovative forces.

Regarding this new business model, Chen Dongfeng stated that comprehensive innovation is needed from three aspects. Firstly, demand driven transformation is the first step, and a network construction model driven by "supply side driven demand side driven" needs to be constructed,; Secondly, a customized network support model from standardization to flexibility is needed, transforming from standardized network support to flexible network support; Thirdly, it is necessary to shift from a single connection based traffic management model to a multi-dimensional value management network management model, shifting from simple traffic management to value management. For example, before the 4G era, the network mainly provided a standardized voice or traffic service.
Especially in terms of network support, in the past, a large network was built to provide standardized services for the C-end. However, in the 5G era, due to the characteristics of 5G's large bandwidth, wide connectivity, and low latency, the application scope of the industry has expanded. However, different industries and fields have varying requirements for network performance, which is completely different from the needs of C-end users. Chen Dongfeng believes that in the face of this problem, significant changes need to be made to the network support model to balance the contradiction between large-scale networks and personalized industry demands.
In view of the transformation of this model, Chen Dongfeng believes that in order to meet the needs of digital transformation of thousands of industries and promote the development of 5G industry, it is necessary to build a large and new ecology, in which more open network architecture and services as well as broader industrial cooperation and more collaborative value system are needed.
The original 4G network construction can be provided by several major equipment manufacturers in the industry, but the network construction of 5G and 4G is different. Chen Dongfeng said that the 5G network architecture not only requires more openness on the equipment supply side, but also allows more manufacturers to participate in the construction of 5G network architecture. At the same time, it is necessary to build an open technology and application ecosystem, so that the entire value chain runs horizontally and collaboratively, in order to effectively promote the development of the 5G industry.
Building a new 5G ecosystem with network architecture and open services
How to build an open 5G new ecosystem? Chen Dongfeng believes that the foundation of building a new ecosystem is openness, and the openness of network architecture and network services is the core element of building a new 5G ecosystem.
For the openness of network architecture, SDN/NFV has opened the door to CT openness, achieving a decoupling model of software and hardware separation. However, in the 5G era, it is necessary to further open up the decoupling of network functions and network capabilities, and the openness of network services is actually the openness of public resources. Based on this concept, Chen Dongfeng believes that the 5G industry urgently needs new forces to participate, jointly build new models, create new ecosystems, and promote innovative development of all formats.
As a traditional IT enterprise, Inspur is committed to becoming a new generation of cloud network integration 5G product and service provider in the 5G era. Chen Dongfeng stated that the positioning of Inspur 5G development is to create 5G network products that best meet industry application needs, reduce the cost of 5G usage for industry users, and accelerate the integration of the industry and 5G.
As cloud network integration becomes a major trend in the 5G era, it has triggered a rich technological transformation from the network to the edge. The accelerated integration of IT and CT has also made CT more open. Inspur believes that the huge opportunities faced by IT enterprises at present, building a new ecosystem with openness is the key to the integration of the ICT industry. The establishment of a new 5G ecosystem requires further openness in terms of network architecture and services, promoting the industrial ecosystem to reach new heights.
Lin Wei, CTO of Inspur Group software, said in an interview with the Communication Industry Daily that Inspur has built edge computing and industry oriented 5G network products based on the design concept of cloud nativeness, openness, minimalism and flexibility. These two points are also the main driving forces for Inspur to develop 5G. By building systematic products integrated with hardware and platform, it can meet the needs of different 5G application scenarios of industry customers.
At the same time, Lin Wei also stated that Inspur's cloud network integration 5G products and services are based on five major advantages: breakthroughs in cloud network key technologies, software and hardware systematized products, integrated cloud digital intelligence collaboration, deep connections across multiple industries, and industrial ecosystem, which enable Inspur to have the ability to open network architecture and deep integration of network and computing.
The first 5G science and technology innovation network in China has been launched
Lin Wei stated that 5G is not a "spring snow", it should enter into thousands of industries, get close to every customer, and enter every "seed customer" who hopes for innovation. Especially for 5G networks targeting industries, different industries have different needs, and uniform 5G networks cannot meet the innovative needs of customers.
According to a survey by IBM, a leading global consulting firm, there is currently a huge demand for 5G industry dedicated networks from over ten million companies worldwide. IBM analysis shows that within 5 years, the market size of 5G services for industry specific networks will exceed that for 2C customers.
In fact, Inspur has also taken action in the construction of industry dedicated networks for a long time. A low latency and high bandwidth 5G private network has been built in the Inspur Industrial Park in Jinan, which can effectively support the demand for intelligent manufacturing. At this 5G forum, Inspur and Shenzhen Mobile officially opened the 5G science and technology innovation special network created for the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIRS), achieving the first 5G science and technology innovation special network in the scientific research field in the country.
